Healthcare in the right place, at the right time

Since becoming your MP, one message has come through clearly in conversations across Calder Valley: people want NHS services to be easy to get to. Whether I am speaking to families, older residents or those juggling work and caring responsibilities, it keeps coming up. There is a lot of focus on the numbers, but I thought I’d also write about what the services do.

Josh helps secure legal change to protect children from abusive parents

Calder Valley MP Josh Fenton-Glynn today helped secure a significant change in the law to protect children from abusive parents. Currently family courts work on the basis that contact with a parent is always in the best interests of a child, even in cases of abuse. Today it was announced in Parliament that will no longer be the case.
